Fight against terrorism: a promising basis for the committee's work!
On Thursday, the Special Committee on Terrorism (TERR), chaired by French MEP Nathalie Griesbeck, presented its draft report. The recommendations contained in the report are the fruit of months of close cooperation with the institutions and agencies of the European Union, representatives of the Member States, but also with researchers, civil society organisations and victims.
The recommendations put particular emphasis, through concrete proposals, on strengthening information exchange and cooperation between the Member States: themes at the heart of the TERR Committee's mandate on which the European added value is undeniable.
Nathalie Griesbeck was pleased with the progress of the work: "I welcome the very good work done by the co-rapporteurs and the rapporteurs: this draft report is an excellent basis. Members of the Committee share a common objective: to improve, in a spirit of political cooperation, counter-terrorism policies by achieving an effective, accurate and operational report".
