The Green Economy, for better and new jobs

EDP Co-President Francesco Rutelli presented yesterday the results of a study on the Green Economy, the mutation toward a clean and environnementally friendly economy. This mutation is one of the few sectors that can provide real growth prospects in the near future.

According to the study, conducted across Italy, the Green Economy could indeed generate nearly 600,000 new jobs in Italy, and contribute to almost 43% of GDP growth. Thus, green economy and economic growth can not be separated if we want to get out of the current crisis in Europe.

This study should serve as a basis for the works of the EDP in the coming months. In the current context of the Italian general elections where proposals are lacking, it was sent to the candidates for prime minister.
