A printer and press publisher, Marguerite Deprez-Audebert comes from a family rooted in the Pas-de-Calais region of France. Born in Béthune, she studied at the University of Lille-I and then at the Sorbonne in Paris. She is a graduate of the European Business School. Elected in Béthune in 2014, she became deputy mayor in charge of economic development, tourism and coordination with universities and twinning. In 2015, she was elected regional councillor for the Hauts-de-France region. From June 2017 to June 2022, she is MP for the 9th constituency of Pas-de-Calais.

This year, Mouvement Démocrate’s activists, together with members of the European Democratic Party, had the pleasure of visiting Guidel again, where the Europe’s days were held from 27 to 29 September as a fringe event of the ‘Université de rentrée’ (‘back to school university’) event organised by the French party.
