Renew Europe launched Youth Campaign with consultation session involving 140 young people

As 2022 is the European Year of the Youth (EYY), the Renew Europe Group in the European Parliament reaffirms its commitment to listen, strengthen the voice and involve the youth as key actors of the decision-making process.

Renew Europe MEPs will organize meetups across Europe to discuss with young people the challenges that the generation is facing and come up with specific policy proposals and actions to overcome them. This input will then become the Renew4Youth manifesto.

On Monday, July 11th and on Tuesday, July 12th, 140 young people from across Europe representing civil society organizations and different social groups are invited to the European Parliament for a series of workshops and debates that will focus on 4 key issues for them: Mental Health and well-being, Youth entrepreneurship and the future of jobs, Inclusion, diversity and civic engagement and Climate and environment. Alongside Renew Europe MEPs, the key speakers include activists and entrepreneurs like the president of JEUNE, Alberto Carvalho Neto, the director of Generation Climate Europe, Agata Meysner, E-Romnja project coordinator, Aldessa Georgiana Lincan, and LGBT activist, Bart Staszewski.

French MEP Laurence Farreng (MoDem), the Renew4Youth taskforce coordinator, says: “Our Renew group wants to make this 2022 Year of Youth the starting point for a more ambitious policy towards all young Europeans, to take into account their needs and aspirations. And it has to be with them! This event is a dialogue and should launch reflection on the subjects of mental health, entrepreneurship or the fight against climate change. We will continue the meetings in the months to come. They will inspire our work to change Europe for young Europeans”
