The European energy community is the key of Europe's future.
The European Democratic Party held in Bilbao on September 29 the seventh edition of the Dialogos de Bilbao Europe-Latin America, on the theme "Energy, climate change and competitiveness". On this occasion, the PNV president Andoni Ortuzar recalled that the European Union must take the necessary emergency measures in the energy sector in order to, along with other sectoral policies, encourage support for competitiveness, growth economic and employment.
As explained Ortuzar, countries which guaranteed access to energy, nations which enjoy the security of energy supply, are now "better placed than others to secure their future and their survival and; logically; to be free and independent".
In this line, it is thus to build a European energy community, which would "allow energy independence, helping to improve competitiveness and to ensure, in short, the future of Europe".
