La mossa arriva alla vigilia delle **elezioni del 2026 in Ungheria**, quando gli ungheresi potrebbero finalmente chiudere il lungo capitolo del governo di Viktor Orbán e riaprire una nuova era di piena democrazia, libertà e Stato di diritto. **Sandro Gozi**, segretario generale del Partito Democratico Europeo, ha dichiarato: *"L'adesione del partito di Péter Márki-Zay al PDE è un'ottima notizia per tutti coloro che credono in un'Ungheria europea, democratica e onesta. Unitevi a noi, insieme fermiamo Putin, fermiamo Orbán!».* Founded by former prime minister candidate Peter Marki-Zay, MMN is a pro-European people’s party representing democratic values, free market economy and anti-corruption, and fighting against the oppressive and corrupt regime of Fidesz. Péter Márki-Zay is a pro-European conservative politician, founder and president of the national grass root movement, MMM and the pro-European people’s party, MMN. He is the mayor of his hometown, the City of Hódmezővásárhely – the city of freedom.
