Sandro Gozi è segretario generale del Partito Democratico Europeo. Eletto deputato italiano nel 2006, è stato nominato Segretario di Stato per gli Affari europei nei governi Renzi e Gentiloni dal 2014 al 2018, poi nel 2019 Chargé de mission nel gabinetto del primo ministro Édouard Philippe. Nello stesso anno è stato eletto deputato europeo nella lista Renaissance e siede nel gruppo Renew Europe, dove è membro della commissione Affari costituzionali e della commissione Mercato interno e protezione dei consumatori. Nel dicembre 2022, Gozi è diventato coordinatore del gruppo Rinnovare l'Europa nella commissione Affari costituzionali del Parlamento europeo. È anche presidente dell'Unione dei Federalisti Europei e sostiene una politica europea transnazionale. È autore di numerosi libri e articoli sull'Europa e insegna in diverse università europee.
