Interrogata sul "Qatargate", il presunto caso di corruzione tra l'ex vicepresidente del Parlamento europeo Eva Kaili e il Qatar, Marie-Pierre Vedrenne ha espresso la sua rabbia: > *I rischi sono due: il "fa tutto schigo" e la perdita di influenza del Parlamento europeo. Ci sono alcune eccezioni e dobbiamo fare in modo che non ce ne siano più.* Il deputato ha ricordato in particolare che il Parlamento deve sottomettersi alla giustizia in totale trasparenza e continuare a non accettare la corruzione al suo interno. Per andare oltre nella lotta alla corruzione, Marie-Pierre Vedrenne ha fatto l'esempio dell'Alta Autorità per la Trasparenza della Vita Pubblica (HATVP), che esiste in Francia e che verifica anche che non ci siano stati arricchimenti di funzionari eletti durante l'esercizio del loro mandato elettivo: "Ci sembra importante andare avanti su questo tema della trasparenza. Stiamo svolgendo questo lavoro con i nostri colleghi per muoverci in questa direzione.
