From those roots, ALMA was conceived as a political home for citizens demanding integrity, accountability and a renewal of public life. The party places at the centre of its project the **rule of law, clean and transparent institutions**, and the modernisation of the Cypriot state. It combines a **firm commitment to good governance** with a constructive, pro-European outlook, and stresses the importance of European engagement in the search for a fair and lasting settlement of the Cyprus question. Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2025, ALMA embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that democracy is sustained not only by elections but by integrity, transparency and institutions that genuinely serve their citizens. ## Members ![](data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27300%27%20style%3D%27background%3Atransparent%27%2F%3E)![](https://democrats.gumlet.io/images/Nikoletta-Tsikkini.png?width=400&height=300&mode=crop&crop=focalpoint&fp-x=50&fp-y=50) [](https://x.com/Nicoletta1511) [Nikoletta Tsikkini ](https://democrats.eu/members/nikoletta-tsikkini/)Deputy Secretary General Cyprus ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο ## Related news ![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27411%27%20style%3D%27background%3Atransparent%27%2F%3E)![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](https://democrats.gumlet.io/images/athens-congress-final-photo-24-october.jpg?width=400&height=411&mode=crop&crop=focalpoint&fp-x=50&fp-y=50)[Spazio Pubblico](https://democrats.eu/parties/spazio-pubblico/)[Junts per Catalunya](https://democrats.eu/parties/junts-per-catalunya/) 25 10 2026 [Europe's Democrats Speak: 18 Voices, One Shared Future ](https://democrats.eu/news/europes-democrats-speak-18-voices-one-shared-future/)[Read more](https://democrats.eu/news/europes-democrats-speak-18-voices-one-shared-future/) ![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27411%27%20style%3D%27background%3Atransparent%27%2F%3E)![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](https://democrats.gumlet.io/images/leader-summit-2026.jpg?width=400&height=411&mode=crop&crop=focalpoint&fp-x=50&fp-y=50)[EAJ-PNV Euzko Alderdi Jeltzalea](https://democrats.eu/parties/eaj-pnv/)[Italia Viva](https://democrats.eu/parties/italia-viva/) 16 10 2026 [Power or submission: EDP at the Renew Europe Leaders' Summit ](https://democrats.eu/news/power-or-submission-edp-at-the-renew-europe-leaders-summit/)[Read more](https://democrats.eu/news/power-or-submission-edp-at-the-renew-europe-leaders-summit/) ![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](data:image/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27400%27%20height%3D%27411%27%20style%3D%27background%3Atransparent%27%2F%3E)![ΑΛΜΑ – Πολίτες για την Κύπρο](https://democrats.gumlet.io/images/thumbnail-6.jpeg?width=400&height=411&mode=crop&crop=focalpoint&fp-x=50&fp-y=50)[Mindenki Magyarországa Néppárt](https://democrats.eu/parties/mindenki-magyarorsz%C3%A1ga-n%C3%A9pp%C3%A1rt/)[Δημοκράτες – Προοδευτικό Κέντρο](https://democrats.eu/parties/demokrates-progressive-centre/) 28 11 2025 [New energy for the European project: new members and guests at the EDP Congress in Bilbao ](https://democrats.eu/news/new-energy-for-the-european-project-new-members-and-guests-at-the-edp-congress-in-bilbao/)[Read more](https://democrats.eu/news/new-energy-for-the-european-project-new-members-and-guests-at-the-edp-congress-in-bilbao/) ## Sign up for our newsletter Get all the latest information straight to your inbox <!\[CDATA\[YII-BLOCK-BODY-END\]\]>
