If yes, then you might be the ideal candidate for the Administrative Assistant – German Speaking position at the European Democratic Party (EDP), a centrist political party at European level, composed of 20 national parties from 15 European countries.
About the role
The EDP is looking for a new full-time staff member to oversee its administrative and logistical tasks. Its main purpose is to support the rest of team. The role will be based at the EDP’s headquarters in Brussels, and will also require occasional travel to help with events and meetings.
Administrative management: you will ensure the smooth running of the office in Brussels. You will be the contact point for the EDP’s service providers and Belgian authorities. A significant part of the role will be processing the EDP’s invoices, bills, and mail.
Finances: you will support the team’s work to comply with the financial requirements set by the European Parliament, the European authority for European Political Parties and Foundations, and the Belgian authorities.
Events & activities: you will assist the team to prepare the logistics and documents for statutory meetings, meetings and events organised by the EDP itself or with its member parties. This means requesting quotes, overseeing logistics, sending documents, catering requests and sending materials in the EDP’s different languages.
Role requirements
- Required: at least 1 year of experience in administrative support
- Languages:
- Required: fluent in German and at least C2 level of English or/and French
- Knowledge of other languages will be an asset
- Knowledge of the rules that apply to European political parties and Belgian AISBLs will be an advantage
Skills
- The role requires precision and a very high attention to detail, especially when it comes to finances and logistics
- Able to work in a diverse team from different backgrounds and nationalities
- Able to communicate clearly and quickly both orally and in writing
- Able to understand tasks and situations quickly and to work effectively in a team and independently
Contract details
- Type of contract: 3-month work contract (could be renewed)
- Start date: as soon as possible
- Salary: 3000€ per month gross

Nominated on 8th March as the European Democratic Party’s (EDP) top candidate, Sandro Gozi, the party’s current Secretary General and a member of the French delegation of the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament since 2020, talks about the priorities of his campaign and those of the ‘Renew Europe Now’ platform that will be launched in Brussels on 20th March. Given the breakthrough of the far right predicted by recent polls, he believes that much of the election will be played out in Italy, where he still hopes that the Italian parties belonging to Renew Europe will form a united list. He also remains convinced that his political family will be represented in the EU’s top posts after the elections, recalling the group’s priorities on defence, the rule of law and enlargement.
