Laurence Farreng, 56, has been a member of the European Parliament since 2019, where she was elected on the Renaissance list. She follows issues related to education, culture, youth and education. She takes keen interest in the development of Europe’s audio-visual sector, being rapporteur in 2022 for a report on e-sports and video games adopted by the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT), where she is a member. She is also coordinator of the Culture, Education and Youth Committee for the Renew Europe group and also the rapporteur for the ERASMUS+ 2021-2027 programme. She serves as a member of the Plenary of the Conference on the Future of Europe and a sits as a substitute on the European Parliament’s Regional Development Committee, which defines the regional and cohesion fund programmes. In France, she became in 2021 a regional councillor for Nouvelle-Aquitaine, where she sits on the council’s committee for ecological transition. One year prior, she became local councillor for the city of Pau. She was selected in 2022 as Vice-President of Mouvement Démocrate, the EDP member political party in France.
Quest'anno gli attivisti del Mouvement Démocrate, insieme ai membri del Partito Democratico Europeo, hanno avuto il piacere di visitare nuovamente Guidel, dove si sono tenute le "Giornate Europee" dal 27 al 29 settembre come evento collaterale dell'"Université de rentrée" ("Università del ritorno a scuola") organizzata dal partito francese.
Il 13 ottobre 2023, nella storica città di Magonza, in Germania, il Partito Democratico Europeo ha tenuto un importante Congresso. Non solo delegazioni provenienti da Germania, Italia, Francia, Spagna, Austria, Polonia, Repubblica Ceca, Bulgaria e molti altri Paesi si sono riunite per partecipare a questo importante evento, ma è stato anche un terreno fertile per dibattiti fondamentali e proposte innovative che affrontano le questioni urgenti della nostra epoca.
Centinaia di attivisti e leader politici si sono riuniti a Guidel nel corso dell'evento. Allo stesso modo, come ha detto François Bayrou: "Crediamo che l'obiettivo dell'azione politica sia quello di creare una società in cui fiorisca l'umanità che c'è in ognuno di noi." La grande affluenza di persone non solo ha segnalato il ruolo attivo del partito negli affari nazionali, ma anche l'interesse della società a essere coinvolta in questo contesto.
