Born in Côte d’Ivoire to Martinican parents, Max Orville is Vice-Chairman of the delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (DACP). He is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) and the Special Committee on the Pandemic COVID-19: Lessons Learned and Recommendations for the Future (COVI), and is a substitute member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). A teacher by trade, Orville began his career in Créteil, France, before becoming a school principal for 30 years in Martinique. Initiator of innovative pedagogical experiments, he set up a set of “life rhythms” for children, a major educational success. As a headstrong teacher, he joined the FSU Martinique, a branch of first French union for education, research and culture, and the first union of the state civil service. He became its general secretary from 2006 to 2009. His union commitment then turned into political commitment when he became president of the Mouvement Démocrate party in Martinique. Since the European elections of 2009, he has represented the republican and democratic values of the party in Martinique during several elections and with his fellow citizens in France and overseas.

Parliamentary mission to Martinique for Sandro Gozi: the cost of living, economic development, sovereignty and youth at the heart of the commitment to the outermost regions.

This year, Mouvement Démocrate’s activists, together with members of the European Democratic Party, had the pleasure of visiting Guidel again, where the Europe’s days were held from 27 to 29 September as a fringe event of the ‘Université de rentrée’ (‘back to school university’) event organised by the French party.

The Federal Party Congress in Bitburg began with a musical welcome, setting the tone for a day of enlightening discussions and important topic on the party itself and Europe. Instead, the Movement Democrate’s Congress in Blois last month served as a pivotal gathering, uniting like-minded people committed to progressive ideals and innovative solutions. The two events were a testament to the movement’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity, shaping the future of politics and promoting inclusive governance.
