Welcome back to the European Democratic Party’s newsletter

For the past week, Georgians have been on the streets. Day and night, they have been calling for the rule of law to be re-established in their country, and for the European promise to be honoured.

The idea that we must choose between security and our values is a false dichotomy.

“The appointment of François Bayrou as Prime Minister is a wise and forward-thinking decision by President Emmanuel Macron,” stated Sandro Gozi, MEP, Secretary-General of the European Democratic Party. “Throughout his extensive political career, François Bayrou has proven to be a man of dialogue, balance, and vision—qualities that are essential to navigating the complex challenges France faces today.”

Welcome back to the European Democratic Party’s newsletter, which from today will be a regular monthly feature.

This year, Mouvement Démocrate’s activists, together with members of the European Democratic Party, had the pleasure of visiting Guidel again, where the Europe’s days were held from 27 to 29 September as a fringe event of the ‘Université de rentrée’ (‘back to school university’) event organised by the French party.

At the headquarters of Mouvement Démocrate in Paris, a Event for the European Election in France organized by the EDP brought together party members, European enthusiasts, and key stakeholders for an evening of political dialogue and engagement

The Federal Party Congress in Bitburg began with a musical welcome, setting the tone for a day of enlightening discussions and important topic on the party itself and Europe. Instead, the Movement Democrate’s Congress in Blois last month served as a pivotal gathering, uniting like-minded people committed to progressive ideals and innovative solutions. The two events were a testament to the movement’s unwavering commitment to fostering unity, shaping the future of politics and promoting inclusive governance.

The event focused on parliamentary simulations, offering middle and high school students an immersive experience in the working field of European politics.

Hundreds of activists and political leaders congregated at Guidel over the course of the event. In the same way, as François Bayrou put it: “We believe that the goal of political action is to create a society in which the humanity in each of us flourishes.”, the high attendance of people not only signaled the party’s active role in national affairs but also the society’s interested in being involved in such context.
