As a former district administrator, I will be the parliamentary arm of the municipal family in Brussels. We stand for a Europe of regions, and within the regions, it is essential to strengthen municipalities and cities that ensure equal living conditions. No mutualization of debts: As the largest net contributor, Germany makes its solidarity contribution to the European Community. Therefore, all states of the Eurozone must be responsible and liable for their own debts. Securing the external borders: Just as we need skilled immigration, we must secure the external borders against illegal migration. Steering investments with sensible tax policy: For the transformation of the energy supply, I advocate a super deduction for renewable energy measures. This will enable a transformation with investment security and without subsidies.

The wider Bosnian War saw over 100,000 killed, thousands of women raped, and more than two million people forced from their homes between 1992 and 1995. On this solemn occasion remembering one of the darkest chapters in Europe’s recent history, the ALDE Party, LIBSEEN members in the region, ALDE in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, European Democratic Party, Liberal International, LYMEC, Renew Europe in the Committee of the Regions, Renew Europe in the European Parliament, and the Young Democrats for Europe are united in honouring their memory and issue the following statement:
