José María Etxebarria has served as an EDP deputy secretary general of since 2019. Before then he was international political coordinator of EAJ-PNV from 2005 to 2014 and vice president of the Basque Council of the International European Movement from 2000 until 2011. Before then he was commissioner of accounts of the Christian Democratic International from 1997 to 2000 and a member of the European People’s Party Bureau from 1994 to1999. He was a member of the Executive Council of the EAJ-PNV of Bizkaia from 1992 until 1996.
