Today, our Secretary General Sandro Gozi had the honour of participating in the Renew Pre-Summit Leaders’ Meeting. The recent European elections showed a clear pro-European mandate. Despite the rise of extremists, the European Parliament will continue to shape EU policy for the next five years.
Our task now is to lead a new pro-European coalition, modernise the Union and ensure prosperity for all citizens. We must focus on strengthening European security, cutting red tape for business and defending democratic institutions and the rule of law, especially in the face of ongoing geopolitical challenges, including the war in Ukraine. To do this, we need a capable and competent team to govern the Union, one that also expresses our values, keeping out those who do not share them.
Together we will propose the best solutions for the good of our society. Let us continue to work for a stronger and more united Europe!
