The Convention of
the European Democratic Party
In Florence on March 8, 2024
The location of the European Democratic Party convention will be Florence's Stazione Leopolda, a 19th-century train station along the city's avenues, now converted into a convention center. It is at the Stazione Leopolda that Matteo Renzi, president of Italia Viva, one of our member parties, has been organizing since 2010 the "Leopolda," one of the main events in Italian politics, with thousands of people coming to Florence from all over Italy for a three-day event of debates and good politics.
The preceding day of the two-day Leopolda 2024, which has as its title Guillaume Apollinaire's famous phrase "The time has come to rekindle the stars," will in fact be organized by the EDP.
The EDP convention is the moment when members of the presidency, MEPs, and delegations from member parties gather to approve the manifesto for the 2024 European elections and launch the campaign, giving voice to the leading candidates from each country and nominating the EDP's leading candidate for the joint campaign to the Renew Europe group, together with friends from ALDE and independent parties, starting with the French Renaissance. During the Convention, an interpretation service will be provided for all speeches from the stage and from the audience. The languages covered are French, Italian, Spanish, German and English.
