Bio

Joachim Streit (born 4 June 1965) is a German politician of the Freie Wähler (Free Voters). He was Mayor of Bitburg from 1997 to 2009 and District Administrator (Landrat) of the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm from 2009 to 2021, then sat in the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag from 2021 to 2024. Elected to the European Parliament in 2024, he sits on the Committee on Budgets.
