Compromiso por Galicia

Compromiso por Galicia (CxG) is a Galician democratic and pro-European party, and one of the voices of the European Democratic Party in the nations and regions of Europe. Rooted in the identity of Galicia — an Atlantic land with its own language, Galego, and a profound seafaring and rural heritage — it champions the self-government of the Galician people and their right to shape their own future.

At the heart of CxG's project lies the defence of Galician identity and self-rule, together with democratic renewal, good governance and balanced territorial development. It combines a strong attachment to Galicia's culture and language with a resolutely European outlook, convinced that the nations and regions of Europe find in the Union a natural space to make their voice heard.

Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2019, Compromiso por Galicia embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that Europe's strength lies in its peoples and territories, and that their identities, languages and cultures are not relics to preserve but living parts of the Europe of tomorrow.
