An EDP vice president from 2012 to 2023, Andrzej Potocki is a philosopher and writer, and a former member from 1991 to 2001 of the Sejm – the Polish parliament. He served as head and political officer of Association of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, or OSCE, missions in the Balkans and Middle East, vice president, and international secretary of Stronnictwo Demokratyczne (SD). He presents internationally the SiD Foundation – Fundacja Samorzadnosc I Demokracja – which is a member organisation of the Institute of European Democrats. Besides politics and history of ideas, he authors books on history of football and on crime novels in the communist era.
