È stato capo e leader politico dell'Associazione delle missioni OSCE nei Balcani e in Medio Oriente, vicepresidente e segretario internazionale di Stronnictwo Demokratyczne (SD). È il rappresentante internazionale della Fondazione SiD - Fundacja Samorzadnosc I Demokracja - che è un'organizzazione membro dell'Istituto dei Democratici Europei. Oltre alla politica e alla storia delle idee, è autore di libri sulla storia del calcio e sui romanzi polizieschi dell'epoca comunista.
