Christophe Grudler, 57, has been a Member of European Parliament since 2019 and serves as the Renew Group Vice-Coordinator for the Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy (ITRE). He focuses on industrial strategy, transport, defence, and international relations and is Vice-Chairman of the Sky and Space Intergroup since 2020. He devotes much interest on climate and sound environmental practices as well as the implementation of a real European space policy, including satellites. He serves on two committees: the Delegation for Northern Cooperation and for relations with Switzerland and Norway; and to the EU-Iceland Joint Parliamentary Committee and the European Economic Area Joint Parliamentary Committee. Grudler in 2021 was rapporteur in the European Parliament on a European strategy for energy system integration. In France, Grudler is president of the Mouvement Démocrate of the Territory of Belmont, his hometown. He has continued to serve also since 2016 on the MoDem party’s national executive board. Before entering politics, Christophe Grudler was a journalist and worked in publishing, including directing magazines of the L'Alsace Group and the Journal des Enfants.
