Treasurer of EDP since 2012, Jean Marie Beaupuy was a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2009. While in the parliament, he served on the Committee on Regional Development, the Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand, the Temporary committee on policy challenges and budgetary means of the enlarged Union 2007-2013, the Committee on Regional Development, and the Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand. He previously served as deputy mayor of Reims, France, in charge of the environment from 2001 until 2008 and in charge of communications from 1989 until 1995.

Before then, he was deputy mayor for cultural affairs from 1983 until 1989. He served as a local councillor in Reims from 1995 to 2001, departmental councillor of the Marne from 1979 to 2004, serving as well as its vice-president from 1992 until 2004. He received the Chevalier de l'ordre national du Mérite in 1995. He was born in La Chapelle-sur-Loire, France, in 1943.
