Sandro Gozi est Secrétaire Général du Parti Démocrate européen. Elu député italien en 2006, il a été nommé Secrétaire d’État en charge des affaires européennes dans les gouvernements Renzi et Gentiloni de 2014 à 2018, puis en 2019 chargé de mission dans le cabinet du Premier ministre Édouard Philippe. La même année, il a été élu député européen sur la liste Renaissance et siège au sein du groupe Renew Europe, où il est membre et de la commission des affaires constitutionnelles et de la commission du marché intérieur et de la protection des consommateurs. Gozi est devenu en décembre 2022 le coordinateur du groupe Renew Europe au sein de la Commission des affaires constitutionnelles du Parlement européen. Il est également Président de l’Union des fédéralistes européens et prône une politique européenne transnationale. Il est l’auteur de nombreux ouvrages et articles sur l’Europe et enseigne dans plusieurs universités européennes.
