Brussels, 09 April 2026 – The European Democratic Party (EDP) announces the accession of German Member of the European Parliament Lukas Sieper and the Partei des Fortschritts (PdF), strengthening the pro-European, progressive and reformist centre in Germany and across Europe.
In Germany, where the EDP is already represented by the Freie Wähler, this accession further consolidates the Party’s presence: the German delegation within the EDP now rises to four members.
At a time marked by increasing political polarisation and the rise of populist forces, the accession of the PdF sends a clear political signal: a new generation is choosing a pro-European, democratic and pragmatic path.
