Marie-Pierre Vedrenne seeks to put an end to all forms of unfair competition in the European Union and also on the international scene. She is vice chair of the Committee on International Trade and of the ACP-EU delegation at the European Parliament. She is also a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and a substitute on the Committee on Petitions. With a degree in European and WTO law, she has an in-depth knowledge of the European Union's trade policy. Vedrenne headed the Maison de l'Europe in Rennes before her election to the parliament. She continues to work on building bridges between the European Union, its institutions, and citizens. In 2021 she became co-chair of the French Delegation, Renaissance, now called L’Europe Ensemble – the delegation of MEPs from the French presidential majority within the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. She served in both 2020 and 2022 as a rapporteur in the parliament driving through two reports: first, a report focused on engaging with citizens on the right to petition, the right to refer to the European Ombudsman and the European Citizens’ Initiative; and second, a report on amending a regulation concerning the exercise of the Union’s rights on international trade rules. Vedrenne studied public law in her native Limousin, France, before settling in Brittany, where she obtained a master's degree in European Union law and World Trade Organization law at the University of Rennes.
