Gozi in Martinique: Europe stands with the Overseas Territories
Parliamentary mission to Martinique for Sandro Gozi: the cost of living, economic development, sovereignty and youth at the heart of the commitment to the outermost regions.
● Regional councillor of Lombardy from 2013 to 2015
● Mayor of Segrate, near Milan, since 2014, re-elected in 2020
● Environmental issues, land protection, sustainable mobility and energy transition have always been on his agenda
from 2013 to 2015
since 2014, re-elected in 2020
From 2013 to 2015, I was a Lombardy regional councillor, elected on Umberto Ambrosoli’s Civic Pact list, sitting on the environment and territory committees. In 2015, I was elected mayor of Segrate, a town of 37,000 inhabitants on the eastern border of Milan, which is undergoing rapid economic, urban and social development. In 2020, I was re-elected with the support of a broad coalition ranging from the Third Pole to the Green and Left Alliance. Attention to environmental issues, territorial defence and sustainable mobility has always been the cornerstone of my political vision and administrative programme. It’s no coincidence that Segrate was one of three European cities called upon to present its own environmental project at COP 26 in Glasgow in 2021. Thanks to the efforts of my municipal administration in recent years, we have been able to secure the funding needed to build the extension of line 4 of the Milan metro from Linate airport to Segrate and the new Porta Est high-speed railway station, two strategic infrastructures for the mobility of my city, Milan, Lombardy and northern Italy.
