Independent Ireland

Independent Ireland (Éire Neamhspleách) is an Irish political movement founded in 2023, rooted in the long tradition of independent and local representation that runs deep in Irish political life. It brings together voices committed to rural communities, regional fairness and a politics grounded in the everyday realities of citizens.

At the heart of the party's project lies the defence of rural Ireland and its communities: fair treatment for regions too often left behind, support for agriculture and local enterprise, accountability in public life, and a pragmatic, common-sense approach to democratic politics. It speaks for those who feel that decisions taken far away should never lose sight of the places and people they affect.

Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2024, Independent Ireland embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that Europe must remain attentive to its territories and communities, and that a Union close to its citizens is one that listens to its regions and never leaves them behind.
