Spazio Pubblico is an Italian reformist, liberal-democratic and resolutely pro-European movement, launched in June 2026 by Pina Picierno. Conceived as an open and democratic space rather than a traditional party, it brings together local administrators, reformists and citizens who no longer recognise themselves in the polarisation of Italian politics. Its ambition is to unite the country's reformist, secular and Europhile area into a credible alternative to both sovereignism and populism.
At the heart of Spazio Pubblico's project lie European integration, economic freedom and social justice. It offers a pragmatic politics that stands with those who produce, invest, innovate and create jobs, together with a firm defence of individual rights, a commitment to common European defence and steadfast support for Ukraine. It speaks the language of seriousness and responsibility, convinced that Italy can only count in the world within a Europe that is free, strong and fair.
Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2026, Spazio Pubblico embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that a reformist, liberal and democratic centre, open, European and free from populism, is the best answer to the polarisation weakening Italian and European democracy alike.
