Story

Momentum (Partit Momentum) is a Maltese centrist and reformist political force, registered in 2025 and brought to life by a group of citizens, among them the well-known civic figure Arnold Cassola, determined to offer Malta a credible alternative beyond its traditional two-party landscape. It became the first Maltese party to join the European Democratic Party.

At the heart of Momentum's project lie accountability, civic participation, sustainability and a pragmatic, inclusive approach to public policy. It champions transparency and good governance, environmental responsibility, and a politics that places the public interest and the engagement of citizens above partisan rivalry.

Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2025, Momentum embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that even the smallest member states deserve a renewed, transparent and citizen-centred politics, and that a Europe close to its citizens is built by those who dare to offer something new.
