Story

Partei des Fortschritts (Party of Progress, PdF) is a German progressive and social-liberal party founded in 2020, conceived as a young, reformist voice within the democratic centre. It set out to renew German politics by appealing to a new generation of citizens drawn to optimism, openness and modernisation.

At the heart of the PdF's project lie innovation, civil rights and political renewal: a forward-looking embrace of progress and technology, a strong defence of individual freedoms, and a commitment to a more transparent and participatory democracy. It speaks for those who believe that politics should look to the future rather than the past, and who want Europe to lead in that spirit.

Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2026, the Partei des Fortschritts embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that the future of Europe is built on innovation, openness and democratic renewal, and that a new generation of pro-European democrats is essential to carrying that project forward.
