EDP in Bamberg

Despite heavy rain, many members accepted the invitation to Bamberg and showed once again what the FREIE WÄHLER stand for before the European elections with the presence of the European Democratic Party.Susann Enders (Secretary General) began the meeting by welcoming all those present, focussing on the MPs and ministers. Claudia John (District Chairwoman of the FW Bamberg Stadt) then emphasised in her welcome address that the party's base is important. District Chairman Manfred Hümmer emphasised the added value of the EU and made it clear that politics must be made tangible for people of all ages. In addition to the statements by Engin Eroglu (MEP) and Christine Singer (Bavarian top candidate), there was also a video message from the Secretary General of the EDP Sandro Gozi. He emphasised that it is more important than ever that the democratic parties stick together, and he is looking forward to continuing to work with the candidates of the FREIE WÄHLER.Finally, the party chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger also spoke about important issues that need to be addressed in the European Parliament from Bavaria. He particularly emphasised the topic of energy. The FREIE WÄHLER believe that citizens must always be involved and taken seriously if a strong democracy is to function. This is also why, EDP had a stand during the whole event where the staff engaged the German citizens talking about EU politics and giving out goodies and depliant with the main keypoints of the EDP.
