The EDP mourns Hubert Aiwanger

On behalf of the entire political family of the European Democratic Party, Secretary General Sandro Gozi paid tribute to Hubert Aiwanger, long-time leader of the Freie Wähler, an EDP member party.

“It is with deep sadness that I learned of the death of Hubert Aiwanger. On behalf of the entire political family of the European Democratic Party, and also personally, I extend my sincere condolences to his family, his friends and the whole Freie Wähler family,” said Gozi.

“As long-time leader of the Freie Wähler and Deputy Minister-President of Bavaria, Hubert Aiwanger helped shape the politics of his home region and the political debate in Germany for many years.”

“The Freie Wähler are a valued part of our European political family. We share their grief and will remember Hubert Aiwanger with gratitude.”
