Future of Europe

Veto, vote, voice — Europe must reform its democracy to act in the world.

The Union built for six cannot work like a Union of twenty-seven, soon more. The European Democrats want a real European democracy: an end to the national veto, the direct election of the Commission President, transnational lists so citizens vote as Europeans, and stronger powers for the European Parliament.

We are federalists — and proud of it. A Europe that cannot decide is a Europe that disappoints; reform is the condition for Europe to count.
