Job offer: Events & Policy Junior Officer

The European Democratic Party (EDP / PDE) is looking for an Events & Policy Junior Officer to join its Secretariat in Brussels and contribute, from day one, to the organisation of the party's events and political activities.
The position is full-time, based at the EDP Secretariat in Brussels, and will require occasional travel in Europe to attend meetings, seminars, and political events.

Main Tasks
- Organise and coordinate EDP conferences, seminars, public debates, congresses and events, managing logistics, suppliers, venues and on-site delivery with a good degree of autonomy.
- Prepare and follow up EDP political activities, working groups, Presidency, Bureau and Congress meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
- Lead on event-related communication (programmes, invitations, practical information notes) in coordination with the Communications team.
- Build and maintain relationships with member parties, partners, speakers and suppliers.
- Conduct policy and political research on EU topics relevant to EDP priorities, feeding into event programming, briefings and internal documents.
- Draft briefing notes, minutes, background documents and short analyses in English and/or French.
- Monitor the work of EU institutions, in particular the European Parliament, identifying developments and opportunities relevant to EDP's political and event activities.
- Support and, where relevant, coordinate trainees/interns on event and logistics tasks.
- Provide organisational and administrative support to the Secretariat as needed.
Required Profile
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a political party, an EU institution, a public affairs firm, an NGO, or event organisation.
- Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) is essential.
- Spanish is a strong asset; knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage.
- University degree in political science, EU studies, international relations, communication, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience organising conferences, seminars or political/public events, including supplier and budget follow-up.
- Solid knowledge of EU institutions and decision-making processes.
- Able to work autonomously, manage several projects in parallel, and meet tight deadlines from the outset.
- Comfortable working in a small, multicultural team and in a political environment.
- Previous experience with political parties, youth movements or EU-related organisations is highly appreciated.

- Working languages: mainly English and French; Spanish an asset.
- Type of contract and remuneration: as per contract.
- Starting date: as soon as possible.
