Les Engagés
Story
Les Engagés is a French-speaking Belgian centrist and humanist party, active in Wallonia and Brussels. It carries forward a long tradition of social and Christian-humanist politics: founded in 1945 as the Christian Social Party and long known as the cdH (Centre Démocrate Humaniste), it reinvented itself in 2022 under the name Les Engagés, opening up as a broad movement of citizens committed to the common good.
At the heart of the party's project lies a humanist vision of society: social responsibility and solidarity, democratic renewal, the ecological transition, and a strong, constructive commitment to Europe. It seeks to bring together citizens of goodwill across traditional divides, placing the general interest and human dignity above partisan logic.
Within the European Democratic Party, which it joined in 2024, Les Engagés embodies a conviction at the core of the EDP's vision: that a politics of engagement, responsibility and humanism is the surest answer to disillusionment — and that a strong, democratic Europe is built by citizens who choose to commit themselves to it.
