Die Europäische Demokratische Partei (EDP), eine europäische politische Partei und Mitglied der parlamentarischen Gruppe Renew Europe, versammelte ihre Führungsspitze am Donnerstag, den 23. Juni, in Brüssel.
Auf dem von unserer parlamentarischen Gruppe Renew Europe organisierten Gipfeltreffen der Führungskräfte der EDP, Matteo RENZI - Führer von Italia Viva, Andoni ORTUZAR - Vorsitzender unseres baskischen Mitglieds Euzko Alderdi Jeltzalea, Engin EROGLU - stellvertretender Vorsitzender unseres deutschen Mitglieds Freie Wähler und Sandro GOZI - Generalsekretär der EDP, begleitet von den Europaabgeordneten Nicola DANTI und Izaskun BILBAO BARANDICA, diskutierten über aktuelle zentrale Fragen in Europa, um eine kohärente demokratische Vision für die Zukunft zu fördern und konkrete Lösungen für die anstehenden Herausforderungen zu finden.
Als Mitglied des pro-europäischsten Bündnisses der europäischen Politik sind die europäischen Demokraten der Ansicht, dass die Ereignisse uns Recht geben: Wir brauchen mehr und nicht weniger Europa, um unsere kollektiven Ziele zu erreichen. An der Seite der Fraktion Renew Europe sind wir uns einig, dass wir für die Stärkung Europas als geopolitische Macht eintreten, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die neue internationale Ordnung, die durch die russische Aggression in der Ukraine ausgelöst wurde; die Beschleunigung der europäischen grünen Agenda mit dem grünen und digitalen Übergang; einen konkreten Fahrplan zur europäischen Souveränität mit der Energieautonomie Europas und Investitionen in Forschung und Innovation; die Erneuerung unseres demokratischen Systems, da Europa eine transnationale Demokratie mit einer europäischen Identität werden muss.

Ciaran Mullooly, neuer unabhängiger irischer Europaabgeordneter für die Europäische Demokratische Partei
The European Democratic Party is pleased to announce that it has received and accepted the application for individual membership of Irish MEP Ciaran Mullooly, elected in the Midlands-North-West constituency. Accordingly, the European Democratic Party has forwarded the documentation to the Renew Europe group for its membership, that was accepted today. With Mullooly’s membership, the EDP rises to 10 MEPs.

Engin Eroglu, gewählt zum stellvertretenden Vorstandsvorsitzenden von EDP
The European Democratic Party is pleased to announce that German Freie Wähler MEP Engin Eroglu has been elected executive vice-president.
“I am honoured to accept the nomination as Deputy Chairman of the European Democratic Party. I firmly believe in our centrist vision and am determined to advance the consolidation and revitalization efforts of recent years”, said Eroglu: “I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly to achieving our common goals and advancing the European Democratic Party. Together, we can create a strong, independent, and economically thriving European Union that provides security and prosperity for its citizens”.

Pressekonferenz: Das neue Parteimitglied Les Engagés tritt der EDP bei
