Vanessa Matz, geboren am 12. August 1973 in Lüttich, Belgien, ist eine bekannte belgische Politikerin und Mitglied der Partei Les Engagés (früher cdH). Sie begann ihre politische Karriere in der Kommunalverwaltung, wo sie von 1994 bis 2018 als Gemeinderätin und Schöffin in Aywaille tätig war. Matz stieg 2008 als kooptierte Senatorin in die nationale Politik ein und war später von 2009 bis 2014 direkt gewählte Senatorin. Seit 2014 ist sie Mitglied des belgischen Bundesparlaments, wo sie sich auf Bereiche wie Inneres, Justiz und soziale Emanzipation konzentriert hat. Am 10. Juli 2024 übernahm Matz den Vorsitz der parlamentarischen Gruppe Les Engagés in der Abgeordnetenkammer. Mit der Bildung der belgischen Regierung im Februar 2025 ist sie nun Ministerin für öffentliche Modernisierung.
