Si è conclusa oggi la visita del Segretario Generale del Partito Democratico Europeo, Sandro Gozi, nella Repubblica di Cipro.
Questa visita fa parte del lavoro dell'EDP volto a consolidare le relazioni con tutti i partiti politici democratici e centristi dell'Unione Europea.
Durante la visita di due giorni, Sandro Gozi, accompagnato dal Presidente Onorario del PDE ed ex parlamentare cipriota Nikos Koutsou, ha incontrato il membro individuale del PDE Pavlos Mylonas, portavoce di DIKO - il Partito Democratico Cipriota, e i rappresentanti della Piattaforma dei Cittadini, membri del PDE. Più tardi, il Segretario Generale dell'EDP ha incontrato Christiana Erotokritou, Vicepresidente di DIKO, e infine Nikos Christodoulides, Presidente della Repubblica di Cipro.
“Our main mission”, said Sandro Gozi, “is certainly to consolidate the political space with Renew Europe, but alongside this – in a perspective of work that goes beyond 2024 – there is also the need to continue the dialogue with all democratic and centrist parties that, although belonging to other European political families, share values and objectives with us”.
"Ringrazio il Presidente della Repubblica, il nostro amico Christodoulides", ha proseguito Gozi, "per averci accolto: un Presidente giovane, appena eletto, indipendente e convinto europeista, che rimane uno dei nostri leader europei preferiti: lo aspettiamo presto a Bruxelles al Parlamento Europeo".
